YAMAGUCCI

Greetings, this is YAMAGUCCI aka Lil YamaGucci, a beatmaker, audio engineer, designer, and calligrapher among other creative pursuits. I'm known primarily for producing Japanese hip-hop and dusty hip-hop with a signature VHS aesthetic. I specialize in sci-fi themed and various concept projects, many of which are released on cassette tape via Humanoid Records, a label I started in 2024. I'm a member of Hibrid Entertainment, a Japanese Hip Hop label out of Osaka and have worked with artists such as Jin Dogg, Young Coco, Young Yujiro, YDIZZY, SANTAWORLDVIEW, Goblin Land, Ben Jazzy, BES and many more artists out of Japan. I'm also a member of L O S T B O Y S, a worldwide crew specialising in OG Phonk.

Humanoid Records

Humanoid Records, established in 2024, is a label I started primarily to release my own music fully independently, with a strong emphasis on physical media. My goal has always been to do as much by hand as possible to create products comparable in quality to third-party tape manufacturers. It’s truly a labor of love, and manufacturing at home allows me to offer better options to artists seeking a uniquely crafted, made-with-love product from Japan. I created Humanoid Records as a deliberate response to the rise of AI-generated music and the corporate-biased algorithms dominating recent digital streaming platforms. This label is about preserving authenticity and artistry through tangible, personal media. If you’re interested in producing your own run of handmade tapes with a distinct sound and aesthetic, don’t hesitate to reach out.
